Touch for Health (TFH) is the most widely used system of kinesiology in the world, and can be easily learned by anyone, without any prior knowledge or credentials, although it is an approved continuing education for massage therapists, acupuncturists, and nurses in certain states.

The foundation of TFH utilizes muscle testing as a biofeedback tool in order to detect any physical, emotional, or energetic imbalances within the system which may be impacting us via pain, discomfort (mental or physical), postural deviations, etc.

With a simple 14 muscle balance we can bring about awareness of how and where we are holding or are energetically blocked while balancing each muscle/meridian bringing the WHOLE back to homeostasis.

Not only does this help the way one thinks and feels, it teaches individuals how to anchor back into their bodies so they can truly feel the subtle shifts either good or bad that they experience throughout their day. "The body keeps the score" and we need only to listen to it closer and deeper . . .

TFH for Wellness Professionals

While TFH was created for self-care, many professionals now use it to enhance their practice, including:
✔ Massage Therapists
✔ Chiropractors
✔ Acupuncturists
✔ Nurses
✔ Psychologists
✔ Personal Trainers
✔ Health & Life Coaches
✔ Yoga & Pilates Instructors
✔ Sports Coaches
✔ Nutritionists
✔ Teachers
✔ Animal Care Specialists

TFHKA is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider, and by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a continuing education provider.

Touch for Health – Level 1
June 13th and 14th 8 am to 5:30PM

Foundations of Somatic Balance

Level 1 introduces the foundational principles of Touch for Health through a somatic, whole-person lens. Students learn how to assess and support balance within the body’s structural (postural), emotional, and energetic systems using muscle testing paired with specific correction points.

This level emphasizes respect for the soma—the body as a living, responsive system that holds experience, adapts to stress, and carries an innate capacity for recalibration when properly supported.

Students learn to facilitate a 14-muscle balance for themselves and others, establishing the cornerstone of the Touch for Health model. The acupuncture meridian system is introduced, offering insight into how physical tension, emotional patterns, and energy flow are interconnected.

Level 1 invites students to listen closely to the body’s feedback, fostering trust in the body’s wisdom and its ability to self-correct through intentional, informed touch.

Touch for Health – Level 2

Expanded Balancing & Element Theory

Level 2 builds upon the foundation of Level 1, deepening the dialogue with the body’s structural, energetic, and emotional systems. Students learn 14 additional muscle tests and expanded correction strategies, including techniques that support core muscle balance—an area commonly linked to postural strain and compensation patterns.

This level deepens the study of the meridian system and Five Element theory, exploring how emotional states, energy flow, and physical expression are woven together within the body. Students work with the Meridian Wheel and Element Chart to better understand timing, balance, and underlying stress patterns.

Level 2 emphasizes refining muscle feedback, listening to the body’s preferences, and supporting its natural ability to organize, regulate, and restore balance.

Concepts and techniques introduced include:

  • Circuit Locating to identify the body’s preferred balancing approach

  • Alarm Points for recognizing patterns of over-energy

  • Meridian Wheel and Time-of-Day balancing

  • Five Element relationships and emotional correspondences

  • Three self-balancing techniques for personal regulation

  • Expanded pain-support skills and efficiency shortcuts to improve session flow

Touch for Health – Level 3

Reactive Muscle Balancing & Deeper Energy Patterns

Level 3 expands both the scope and depth of Touch for Health by introducing reactive muscle theory, emotional balancing, and advanced correction methods. While earlier levels focus on primary muscle-meridian relationships, Level 3 addresses deeper, long-standing patterns of imbalance.

Students complete the full 42-muscle system, allowing for broader pattern recognition across the body’s energy and structural systems.

This level explores how chronic stress, habitual posture, and emotional holding may contribute to reactive muscle responses and recurring discomfort. Practitioners learn to integrate emotional, structural, and energetic feedback into a more comprehensive balancing process.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Complete 42-muscle balancing

  • Identification and correction of reactive muscles

  • Advanced Five Element applications, including color and emotion-based balancing

  • Emotional and structural techniques such as pain tapping, gait balancing, meridian pulse checks, and circuit retaining mode

Level 3 supports practitioners in working with more complex and persistent imbalance patterns while remaining firmly within a non-medical, supportive scope.

Touch for Health – Level 4

Postural Integration & Full-Body Balance

Level 4 synthesizes and consolidates all material from Levels 1–3, guiding practitioners toward full-body assessment and integration. The focus expands to include postural analysis, standing and supine testing, and advanced corrective strategies that address both structural alignment and energetic flow.

Students learn to observe postural patterns and use those observations to inform balancing decisions, integrating muscle function, meridian relationships, and movement habits into a cohesive assessment process.

This level emphasizes refinement, confidence, and practical application of the complete Touch for Health system.

Key components include:

  • Full 42-muscle balancing in both standing and lying positions

  • In-depth postural analysis and interpretation

  • Techniques for releasing long-held postural stress patterns

  • Expanded energy balancing tools, including Five Element sound balancing, acupressure concepts, and Luo points

  • Comprehensive review and integration of all Touch for Health techniques

Level 4 supports practitioners in applying the Touch for Health system with greater clarity, presence, and adaptability in full-body session contexts.
